The things you never wanted to know about us.
Who are we?My name is Benjamin Weemes, I was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Japan when I was 9 months old. I have a wonderful sister, Megan, and two amazing parents, Steve and Kathi. I grew up in and around Tokyo, Japan, and lived there until I graduated high school at 18. Then I came to Fresno Pacific University (FPU) in Fresno, CA two years after my sister did. I graduated with my Bachelor's in History and then my Master's in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies. I married my college sweetheart Tia on June 18th, 2011 and have been a happy man ever since. We moved into a condo near FPU a few months after we were married and love it. We both currently work at FPU, her as an Admissions Counselor, and me as a Media Developer, so both our jobs are biking distance.
I love to dance, sing, read, write, create, play sports, hang out with my friends, listen to music, spend time with my wife, help people solve problems, play board/card games, and learn new things. That's pretty much me. |
What do we do?I work at FPU as the Media Developer and student-staff supervisor in the Center for Online Learning. My wife also works at FPU as an admissions counselor, visit coordinator, and student-staff supervisor in the Admissions Office.
I used to work in a couple places. First of all, at the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies at Fresno Pacific University (FPU) in Fresno, CA I am the conflict specialist and student mediator. I also work at Tehipite Middle School as their conflict specialist. I also spend my time working at the Center for Online Learning at FPU as well doing social media and content development work. And lastly, I am the social media specialist at Bullfrogs Bar and Grill in Kingsburg, CA where my wife teaches line dancing every week. I am also going to school full-time at FPU to get my Master's Degree in Peacemaking. what do we offer? We have a couple skills that we didn't know what to do with.

What are our goals?I have many goals in life, some more recent, others from when I was young.
˚ The goal I have had the longest is to write my own fiction (or historical fiction) book and get it published. ˚ I want to teach, specifically teach history, because I love it and I want to help others love it as well. ˚ I have also been striving towards my goal of creating a working, fun board game for a couple years now and I would love to finish it and get it published as well. ˚ Lastly, my loftiest goal of all, to own a business with my wife. To create a bookstore/coffeehouse/ restaurant/game store where people can relax and play games, read books, eat, and enjoy community together. There are many places like this, but I have some specific ideas that I think might set our place apart from the rest. |
